A self described "Fashion Fanatic" since childhood, K.Lane's Boutique owner, Diana Schmidt, followed her passion into college, earning a degree in fashion merchandising.
"There is something so empowering about fashion, the right look can change your outlook and your self-esteem. For me, fashion isn’t just about how you look, it’s a state-of-mind, a statement. And every time we help someone find the look that gives them a boost of energy, it's a thrill. We love our clients and we love fashion, and it shows."
In 1992, Diana fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening her own fashion boutique in her hometown of Anthony, Kansas. She named the store KayLane’s Kloset, a combination of her two young daughters' middle names, and spent the next decade bringing unique fashion finds to her growing client base.
In 2005 Diana opened a second location in Wichita and changed the name of both of her stores to K. Lane's Boutique.
2016 brought the fulfillment of another dream in the form of The Paisley Parrot Fashion Truck and began offering fashions with the Paisley Parrot label.
25 years after opening K.Lane's in Anthony, Diana made the decision in May of 2017 to close the store in order to be able to spend more time sourcing fashion and accessories for her clients. The final days at the Anthony store, says Diana, were some of the most emotional and the most rewarding as clients who had become friends and family convened on the store for equal doses of shopping and memory sharing.
